Megatub Guide: Ensuring Optimal Use and Setup
The Tundra Megatub™ is designed for those who seek a superior cold plunge experience. With its impressive size and durable construction, the Megatub offers unmatched benefits for physical recovery and mental resilience. Here’s everything you need to know about setting up and using your Megatub to its fullest potential.
1. Proper Inflation
To ensure your Megatub performs optimally, it's crucial to inflate it correctly:
- Main Tub Area: Inflate to 9+ PSI to avoid excessive "bulging" when filled with water. Proper inflation ensures the tub maintains its shape and supports the cover/lid correctly. The Megatub is the longest tub of it's kind, so a natural bulge may occur. This is not a defect, it is the weight of the nearly 1500lbs of water that is pressing on the sides.
- Lid: Inflate to about 7+ PSI. This pressure is sufficient to ensure the lid fits on top to keep the larger wildlife, and wild-kids out!
- Please Note: the lid will keep most larger animals out, but when the Megatub is completely full, you will notice a slight bulge due to the weight (a normal feature for this tub length) and the blue-lid may not sit 100% flush on top. The lid still does it's job to keep out small children & animals, but you will be able to purchase an additional bug-proof cover in the near future. (We are releasing an optional cover for bug-zones, in July 2024)
2. Location and Ground Support
Given the Megatub's size and water capacity (up to 160 gallons), it can weigh around 1300 lbs when filled. Ensure you place it on a stable, non-corrosive surface that can support this weight. Avoid placing it on uneven or saggy ground to prevent any damage or instability.
3. Key Features and Benefits- Size and Capacity: The Megatub measures 77 inches in length, 31 inches in width, and 26 inches in depth, making it suitable for full immersion and accommodating up to two people.
- Port Compatibility: It comes with 2-port water chiller compatibility, allowing for efficient temperature control.
- Durability: Constructed with weatherproof materials, the Megatub is designed for both indoor and outdoor use.
- Portability: Despite its size, the Megatub is portable and comes with a heavy-duty backpack for transportation.
- Safety First: Always ensure the area around the tub is safe and free from obstacles. Given its weight, ensure the surface can handle the load.
- Regular Maintenance: Clean the tub regularly to maintain hygiene and longevity. Use appropriate cleaning agents that do not damage the material.
- Monitor Water Quality: Regularly check and maintain the water quality, especially if used frequently.
